These windows are not the off-the-shelf RV windows you see elsewhere. Traditional teardrop trailer “stargazer” windows are simply standard flat-paned RV windows being fitted into the curved plane on the front of a teardrop trailer, despite the fact that they are intended for use in a flat wall. This re-purposing of a flat window for use in a curved surface necessitates creating a flat spot in the curve in order to fit the window properly. The square peg in a round hole solution!
We’ve taken a different approach - our windows are purpose-built featuring an 1/8” thick acrylic window pane formed to fit our front curve precisely and fastened to the trailer body with 16 stainless steel through bolts. The exterior mounting ring is CNC milled from a single piece of 1/4” thick 5052 aluminum sheet. Each mounting ring is fully sealed to both the window pane and to the trailer body itself using a neoprene closed cell foam gasket with pressure sensitive adhesive (psa) on all mating surfaces.
Crystal clear window panes offer an unequaled stargazing experience when you are nestled into your High Camp. When it’s time to put the night sky show to bed, a foam insert can be popped into the window for 100% opacity and insulation of the window panes to reduce cold transmission and condensation on the window pane.
Whether you are interested in bringing more light into your trailer, “opening” the cabin to bring the outside in, or just love to watch for shooting stars above before drifting off to sleep, our new teardrop trailer front Stargazer windows are for you!
